Character development is important for well-being and navigating nearly all aspects of life. From business, to personal relationships and faith, character development is a goal that each individual should aspire towards if one aims to be successful. Because while we don’t always have complete control over environments and the traits we inherited, we can choose the way we react and the character traits we would like to grow towards.
This is the basic purpose of the A-Z of character traits: to empower you to choose who you want to be and grow towards in the next 12 months. When used effectively, your chosen character traits can inform the habits, goals, and skills you would further like to develop over time.
HOW TO USE THE A-Z LIST:
1. Select up to 5 character traits you desire to grow in
2. Create an acronym that expresses your chosen traits
3. Write down a few practical ways you can exercise and demonstrate these traits
4. Place these somewhere you see regularly see (i.e. bathroom mirror, bedroom wall, phone wallpaper)
You can also use the acronyms to select traits for people you desire to enter into relationships such as colleagues, romantic partners, and friends. For example, you may desire a romantic partner who is SLOWER (S= Supportive, L= Loving, O= Optimistic, W= Wise, E= Explorative, R= Respectful). I don’t know about you, but SLOW is way easier to remember when you’re on the lookout or need to filter your options and make a quicker decision about whether to pursue a relationship or not. Here are some examples:

On top is the A-Z list you can use to help you select positive character traits you desire to grow. You can adapt it, or add other traits not included in the list. Enjoy coming up with interesting acronyms for who you want to be!
